Dr. Pamela Talley

Dr. Pamela Talley is a family medicine trained physician and medical epidemiologist who serves as the Medical Director of HIV, Sexually Transmitted Infections, and Viral Hepatitis at the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH). Prior to joining TDH in 2016, she served as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Dr. Talley received her medical training at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, her family medicine training at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and after 20 years in practice, her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology at the Colorado School of Public Health. She has an adjunct position on the faculty of the Department of Medicine in the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in its Division of Infectious Diseases. Additionally, she is a board member of the International Health Facility Diversion Association which aims to protect patients, staff and facilities from the harm associated with drug diversion bringing her public health emphasis on the infectious disease consequences of injectable drug diversion.
