Thunwa Klaihathai

Thunwa Klaihathai is the Viral Hepatitis Special Projects Epidemiologist at the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH). She has been a part of the program since February 2023. Prior to her joining TDH, she served as a Research Coordinator at Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Georgia where she spearheaded a Doula Medicaid Pilot Program to improve the health of low-income birth givers as well as advocate for more maternal and infant health resources in the state of Georgia. She also worked as a Graduate Assistant for Georgia State University and Intern for Live Forward, where she conducted educational outreach events to limit the spread of HIV and STIs. Thunwa received her Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion & Behavior from the University of Georgia and Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from Georgia State University.
