Rebecca Amantia, PhD, MPH, is a public health scientist and harm reductionist dedicated to advancing community-driven, evidence-based strategies. She serves as the Director of Harm Reduction Initiatives at the Tennessee Department of Health, supporting both emerging and established harm reduction efforts across the state. In addition, Dr. Amantia contributes to the Syndemic Coordination Program, leading cross-cutting initiatives that address HIV, STIs, substance use, and viral hepatitis.
With expertise in implementation science, program evaluation, and syndemic approaches, Dr. Amantia is committed to nonjudgmental, person-centered care and collaborative public health solutions. She earned her MPH in International Health and her PhD in Public Health from Oregon State University, with a focus on health and human rights.
